The City of Rimouski is proud to be able to offer its residents an on-line carpooling service. This service was established in collaboration with The Carpooling Network, in an effort to offer services which are complementary to other means of transportation in the city, such as Taxibus.

This service makes it possible to register for free on the website, either as a driver or a passenger, and to find one or more carpooling partners whose route and work or school schedule match your own. It is then up to the carpooling partners to agree among themselves how to share costs. Although the service is mainly designed for daily commuting, it is also possible to find partners to share the ride for long-distance travel.

In addition to the well-known financial and environmental benefits of carpooling, the service offers some other advantages:

• High level of confidentiality and protection of personal information;
• Message service integrated within the site;
• Software program that suggests possibilities according to your itinerary;
• A variety of criteria to find matching commuters (sex, age, non-smoker, etc.);
• Visualization of the starting and ending locations for other members of the network through a mapping service;
• Search by itinerary;
• Your personal profile can by easily and temporarily inactivated if you are not available.

Notice: The City of Rimouski does not review the registration files of participants in the carpooling service and disclaims any and all liability with regard to the information they contain.
